Water bottles have been closely link to Racing Bike. You may notice though how come all the bicycle bottles are made from soft plastic in a certain boring shape? There are other water bottles that are made from Aluminium and polycarbonate that are available on the market, but why people still prefer the soft plastic one?

The main reason is most of the drink holders are set in size, and the aluminium and poly carbonate provide no flexibility in adjusting the bottle size to fit the holder. While Soft plastic has this advantage.

Second reason is, the softness on the bottle also allow the user to squeeze it, so more fluid can come out at the same time. It is very common to see the cyclist squeeze the bottle to try get more water out at one time, if they use aluminium or poly carbonate bottle, they will not be able to squeeze that.
